Yay October!

It's OCTOBER! I think this is my favorite month by far. Still decent weather but the chill of fall is in the air. All pumpkin everything actually applies. I've already made cookies and a crock pot meal. Loki even has a new Halloween bandanna! I need to get working on my costume for this year. Nick already figured out his costume and we are not doing a couple costume this year. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

These pants have served me well in the past year or so. They are a little bold but also kind of a neutral at the same time. My go-to outfit lately has been printed jeans, graphic tee, jean jacket, and flats. I just added a pair of camo jeans to the rotation and I'm pretty excited about them. Camo is everywhere this fall. It made an appearance this spring/summer and it's not going anywhere soon. Go out an buy something camo NOW! I have a feeling it's about to turn into leopard print. And you know how I feel about leopard print...

Allergies and Alleys

So I went on and on about how amazing fall is yesterday but there is actually one major downside. Allergies. How cow, they pretty much knocked me on my pleather clad bum today. I've never really had them before this season and I just want them gone. Any suggestions or meds that work? I may or may not scratch my eyeballs out before winter. Ugh.

On a lighter, not congested note...look at this alley! Doesn't it rule? This might be my new favorite picture taking place. It's called Couch Place Alley named after a couple of brothers that owned an adjacent hotel in the mid 1800's. Apparently, there was a huge fire that destroyed the neighboring Iroquois Theater in 1903. This fire killed 600 people and there are suspicions the alley is now haunted. I definitely did not get a creepy feeling while I was there and now I'm even more excited to go back!

Fashion blog turned Chicago history lesson, sorry! Back to the real subject. I just got these shoes and I'm in love. They might give me blisters now but that's nothing a couple of band-aids and my high pain tolerance can't deal with! Also, pleather and denim is one of the best combos. Bonus points for leopard print and stripes!

Bad Blogger

Oh. My. Goodness. I'm the worst blogger ever. I've been missing in action for over a week! What's wrong with me?? Sadly not much has happened since the last time I posted. The weather still stinks. I did do a 3 day juice cleanse. Only juice all day. I don't even want to talk about it. Bright side. Can we talk about how long my hair is getting?? We can thank the rain that won't quit for ruining my curls so I can see just how long my hair really is. At least it's good for something. I guess.

Non-Spring Spring

Oh, hi there. Remember me? The girl that hasn't done a blog post in a WHOLE week! I don't even have a good excuse! Sometimes you just don't want to take pictures. And that's totally ok.

So life update. St. Patrick's day happened. We celebrated on Saturday and ended up at an empty heavy metal bar and played pool all day. It was exactly the way I wanted to spend the day. Also, I'm mildly good at pool. Who knew? Must have been that pool table in my grandparent's basement. This whole week has just been dragging. The sad part is I'm so busy too! Like, that's not supposed to happen. Dragging and slow. Busy and fast. That's how it's supposed to be! Come tomorrow and gonna scream from the rooftops TGIF!!!

Guys, it's cold in Chicago. Like extra cold. Like it should never be this cold even when it's supposed to be winter cold. I absolutely loathe it. Where are you spring? Why are you letting winter walk all over you?! Man up! Own your season! I have become completely bored with my wardrobe because of all this nasty weather. I need pastels, and florals, and neons! Instead my outfit is jewel toned, black, and leopard print. That is NOT springy. Sigh. Mother Nature and I are gonna have to have a little chat.

Plaid & Leopard

Hi there. I took a day off. Did you miss me? Sometimes the world just doesn't want you to look cute. That was my Wednesday. I had a pretty awesome outfit picked out and then I rolled out of bed and it just didn't seem appealing at all. BTW, I always pick out my clothes the night before. I find it gives me more time to sleep in the morning. Considering how much time rummaging through my closet takes up of my evenings, I would be late for work almost everyday.

Today is Thursday. Which means one day closer to Friday. Which means I get to go to Iowa! I'm so looking forward to this trip. Not only am I super excited to see everyone, sometimes you just need a change of scenery. Wide open spaces tend to melt my stress away instantly.

My photo shoot today is the exact opposite of wide open spaces. It was such a gross day outside so instead of going outdoors I thought I would stand in front of them. From the 16th floor. On a clear, pretty day you could maybe see the lake behind me. Not today. Today was awful. Ice, snow, and rain is not a good combo for anything. Especially walking. That's right. I fell. Right outside my apartment. Don't worry, I'm ok. I just scrapped my knee, ruined a pair of tights, and bruised my pride. Luckily I was close enough to go back in and clean myself up and you wouldn't have any idea I basically did the splits on the sidewalk this morning.

This outfit is one I've been trying to create for sometime now. I finally found this dress at Target. It's the perfect basic shape and color for some fun pattern mixing. Plaid and leopard might be one of my all time favorite combos. Have I mentioned how obsessed I am with leopard print?  If not, I am obsessed. Like very obsessed.

Pics are a tad grainy, sorry!!

Gadzooks

Today is COLD. I don't mean the oh, I'll throw a hat and gloves on and be ok cold. It's the I need a snow suit cause my legs are gonna fall off cold. So I am not cute outdoors today. Unless you think the Abominable Snowman man is cute. In that case I'm adorable.

Indoors, like inside my office bar, I am much warmer and much cuter. Yes, I said office bar. We have a bar inside our office. It's called Starbar. That's advertising. The bar is actually pretty darn cool and decorated in a mid century modern theme. Dare I say it's "Mad Men"-esque? Donald Draper could totally kick it here.

Today's outfit is my normal color scheme. Black, brown, and leopard. Leopard is a color to me. Throw on some boyfriend jeans and some pink lipstick and you got a laid back but chic outfit! Oh, and remember when I told you I have socks from Limited too? Well, these shoes are from Gadzooks. Good ol' Gadzooks. I'm pretty sure Forever 21 bought it out so basically my shoes are from Forever 21...right?

I guess I was a serious Sally today!
